Hello and welcome to the official fundraising page for The Big Raise for Little Rays: Project Play!
 
The aim of this fundraiser is to improve the waiting areas of the Medical Imaging Department here at the Royal Devon University Hospital (Eastern) in Exeter for the benefit of not just our paediatric patients and their families, but for everybody who visits us. Research has proven that having calming, engaging and fun waiting area decor can reduce anxiety, improve engagement and provide a distraction. 
 
We are a large department which includes X-Ray, CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, Ultrasound and our neighbours in Nuclear Medicine. Last year, over 253 000 patients including 15 400 under 18's, used our Medical Imaging services. Many of whom would have spent time in our current, very uninspiring, waiting rooms. 
 
Project Play wants to change that and bring colour, fun and adventure into your visit. We want our paediatric patients to travel our maze of corridors with our explorer characters, who will be custom designed to represent all our children and the disabilities they may live with. Each waiting room will be transformed into a different landscape and wall toys will be installed for patients to interact with and occupy their minds. 
 
This is a whole team effort, staff and patients alike, to come together to raise as much money as we can . We are really excited about this amazing project and the more money we raise, the more we can do!

£5 would bulk buy colouring pencils and paper to print activity sheets
£50 would buy a set of childrens table and chairs
£500 would buy a wall mounted toy 
£5000 would cover the cost of the custom designed vinyl wall art and installation across multiple areas
