The Dementia Team
About
Our Dementia Teams consist of our healthcare for older people wards in and around the trust. We are currently fundraising for Kenn and Bovey wards to improve the ward environment for patients admitted with Dementia.
When a patient arrives onto the ward, the environment alone can be extremly distressing causing agitation, frustration and aggression. We are raising funds to give our patients a more positive hospital experiance, to enable a better outcome and a shorter hospital stay.
We aim to provide more facilities such as an expanded activities area and more equipment for de esalation and interaction. We want our wards to be dementia friendly. But we can not do this without funding.
Our fundraising event will be on the 20th April - we will walk in the shape of a dementia forget-me-not flower in exeter. we will be spreading awareness, talking to people whilst raising money for our fund.
